Thanks to our friends at Clark Construction to cast our mutual friend "Roost" in their debut feature film "We're building something amazing!" I think so...
On a recent trip to New Orleans we were charmed by the street name tiles embedded in the sidewalks at each intersection. Not only did it make good old fashioned "moseying along" navigation easier, it just struck us as a nice artistic dollop in the streetscape. We tracked down the official suppliers in NOLA and took up the tradition Upper Left Coast style here at Roost... we hope it might be catching! A shout out to our good friend, and super-mason Mike Wall who's skills made it happen.
June and her dad Chip are committed to leaving the beach better then they found it. As community members of Lynwood Center they dedicated their Saturday to beach cleanup. There was PLENTY of low hanging fruit, I'm sorry to say. In styrofoam alone, they picked up 2 full trash bags worth. Thank you to June for caring so much and thank you to Chip for teaching the next generation what's important. Gold star to both of you!
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love July... I have no more words, ALLEZ!
Well, we opened with a boom. Folks were rattling the gate at 1:45p and it didn't let up until 6p. We were so blessed with so many kind comments, thanks to all who visited and were so enthusiastic. We estimate about 250 people came through, and we had 45 people in the great room at one point; a great party house!
The night before the first Townhome open house we lit the fireplace on the deck and pretended we lived there, not bad, I like living here...
Our "Jazz Man" Riley killed it on his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner to kick off our first Open House with some real mojo. I wish I would have had a hat, I totally would have thrown it high after the closing riff. I don't care what Marge Simpson says, we love our Jazz Man!
Pink, purple and red appeared this week! Nice.
I don't know why I feel compelled to take pictures of my food, which I never look at again... but my daily creation "squirrel breakfast" looked extra good today!
Saw these tiny cyclekarts at Tieton Grand Prix this weekend and just fell in love with them. I'm definitely going to build one myself, and decided if you did too we could double the available parking on Winslow Way. Ok everybody, let's cooperate!
